- Bien qu'ayant fortement déçu la clientèle sportive, la Matra-Simca Bagheera, coupé sport offrant 3-places de front, avait su conquérir un assez large public. Pourtant, en 1979, la direction de Matra décide de la remplacer par un nouveau modèle mieux motorisé et plus fiable.~
- La Talbot-Matra Murena sera la dernière production en commun de Talbot/Simca et Matra. 10 860 exemplaires de Murena 1.6, 2.2 et 2.2 S seront construits entre 1980 et 1983.~
- La 2.2S, qui ne fut produite qu'à 480 exemplaires de juin à juillet 1983, bénéficiait du moteur 2 155 cmⁿ dont la puissance grimpait à 142 ch grâce à un arbre à cames plus pointu et deux carburateurs doubles Solex 40 ADDHE. Elle se distinguait également par un package aérodynamique optionnel avec des jupes latérales et une lèvre de spoiler arrière rapportée, que tous les clients n'ont pas commandé.~

However, in 1979, Matra's management decided to replace it with a new model with a more powerful engine and greater reliability.~
- The Talbot-Matra Murena was the last model produced jointly by Talbot/Simca and Matra. Between 1980 and 1983, 10,860 Murena 1.6, 2.2 and 2.2 S models were built.~
- The 2.2S, of which only 480 units were produced between June and July 1983, was equipped with a 2,155 cc engine whose power was increased to 142 hp thanks to a more aggressive camshaft and two Solex 40 ADDHE twin carburettors. It also stood out thanks to an optional aerodynamic package with side skirts and a rear spoiler lip, which not all customers ordered.~
