- La vénérable firme Sunbeam s'est rapidement distinguée par son esprit d'innovation, en se lançant notamment très tôt en compétition, pour prouver la fiabilité et la performance de ses véhicules sur les circuits les plus prestigieux. Dans les années 1920, la marque atteint son apogée, notamment grâce à des modèles de course comme la Sunbeam Grand Prix 1924 (que Aguttes propose également à la vente) et de records.~
- La marque, symbole de performance et de savoir-faire britannique, connut une belle notoriété également sur route, notamment grâce à la Twenty, une auto de tourisme qui bénéficia au début des années 1930 d'un très beau moteur 6-cylindres de 3 l de cylindrée.~
- La très racée 20 HP Monte Carlo Saloon qui illustre ces pages fut livrée neuve par la maison londonienne Boon & Porter Ltd. à M. et Mme Turnbull, de Woking, dans le Surrey, le 16 juillet 1934. Elle portait à l'origine l'immatriculation M4 qui appartenait auparavant à une De Dion de 1903 et elle conserva ce numéro jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit vendue à M. Garment, toujours dans le Surrey, en 1957.~
- Bien connue du Sunbeam Talbot Darracq register, ce bel exemple a participé à de nombreux rallyes et événements au Royaume-Uni et en Europe. Entretenu par Holcombe Engineering de Bath de 1970 à la fin des années 1990, il est accompagné d'un dossier complet listant un historique complet de propriété depuis l'origine, des factures remontant à 1969, et des copies des essais routiers dans Motor Sport de décembre 1933 et The Motor février 1934 faisant l'éloge des prouesses sportives du modèle. Avant que son propriétaire actuel ne s'en porte acquéreur, cette Twenty fut repeinte dans sa livrée d'origine - bleu et noir, le moteur fut refait par B.B. Motor Components Ltd (en 2006), des roues neuves reconstruites, l'intérieur restauré, etc.~
- Avec seulement 18 Speed 20 restantes sur environ 100 construites (dont 5 Monte Carlo pilarless Saloon sur les 25 fabriquées), cette incroyable Sunbeam fera le plaisir d'un gentleman driver à la recherche de l'une des plus désirables Grand Tourisme des années 1930, prête pour tailler la route dans le plus grand des conforts et avec des performances surprenantes pour l'époque.~

- The venerable Sunbeam company quickly distinguished itself through its spirit of innovation, notably by entering the world of competition at a very early stage to prove the reliability and performance of its vehicles on the most prestigious circuits. In the 1920s, the brand reached its peak, thanks in particular to racing models such as the 1924 Sunbeam Grand Prix (also offered for sale by Aguttes) and record-breaking achievements.~
- The brand, a symbol of British performance and expertise, also enjoyed great renown on the road, thanks in particular to the Twenty, a touring car which in the early 1930s benefited from a beautiful 3-litre 6-cylinder engine.~
- The very stylish 20 HP Monte Carlo Saloon featured on these pages was delivered new by the London-based company Boon & Porter Ltd. to Mr and Mrs Turnbull of Woking, Surrey, on 16 July 1934. It originally bore the registration number M4, which had previously belonged to a 1903 De Dion, and retained this number until it was sold to Mr Garment, also in Surrey, in 1957.~
- Well known to the Sunbeam Talbot Darracq register, this fine example has participated in numerous rallies and events in the United Kingdom and Europe. Maintained by Holcombe Engineering in Bath from 1970 to the late 1990s, it comes with a complete file listing a full ownership history since its inception, invoices dating back to 1969, and copies of road tests in Motor Sport from December 1933 and The Motor from February 1934 praising the model's sporting prowess. Before its current owner acquired it, this Twenty was repainted in its original blue and black livery, the engine was rebuilt by B.B. Motor Components Ltd (in 2006), new wheels were rebuilt, the interior was restored, etc.~
- With only 18 Speed 20s remaining out of approximately 100 built (including 5 Monte Carlo pillarless Saloons out of the 25 manufactured), this incredible Sunbeam will delight a gentleman driver looking for one of the most desirable Grand Touring cars of the 1930s, ready to hit the road in the utmost comfort and with surprising performance for its time.~
